  1. Hi, I have a 2023 Camry Hybrid with full-range cruise control. I just noticed that the instrument panel icon (i.e., 3 horizontal bars) for CC doesn’t always stay lit even though the speed is actively controlled. It is intermittent. I think I remember that it is not supposed to be the way it works. Please advise.

    • It’s normal for the adaptive cruise control (ACC) icon on your 2023 Camry Hybrid to change depending on the system status and driving conditions. The three horizontal bars you see on the instrument panel are part of the distance indicator for full-range cruise control.

      • When the system is actively maintaining speed and distance, you should see the main cruise control icon along with the set speed.
      • The three horizontal bars represent the following-distance setting you’ve chosen (long, medium, or short). They may not remain constantly lit because the display adjusts to show current status, warnings, or other messages on the multi-information display.
      • If the system is still controlling your speed but the bars disappear briefly, it’s usually because the display is switching to another screen (for example, fuel economy info, lane assist status, or a driver alert).

As long as the green cruise control icon and your set speed remain visible, and you feel the vehicle actively controlling speed/distance, the system is working as designed.
      When to have it checked:

      • If the cruise control icon itself disappears while the system is still engaged.
      • If you get warning messages such as “Radar Cruise Not Available” or “Clean Sensor.”
      • If the system drops out of speed control unexpectedly.

In those cases, it’s a good idea to have your dealer inspect the radar sensor and confirm the system’s software is up to date.
